Sara McLean
Miss Edinburgh 2010 and Miss Great Britain runner up 2011. This summer Sara McLean also graced our screens on one of the UK's most talked about shows, Big Brother. Here she talks appearing on 'Take Me Out', which housemate is most 'vindictive' and more.
We agree with you there Sara. Who do you still speak too?
I am still in contact with everyone from the show however I speak more with Shiv, Luke A, Becky, Scott and Conor. As I've said though, I do speak to all of them still and I have no problems with any of them. Watching the show back Lydia was very very vindictive but I hold nothing major against her. Has the big brother experience changed your life at all? It has definitely has changed my life for the better! Firstly, I feel it has made me a much stronger person and has given me a lot more confidence to believe in my dreams, as anything is possible you just never know what is round the corner. Although it sounds cliche, being on the show has opened up so many doors for me, I'm really excited. Also I have met some fantastic people along the way and been given opportunities I'd never ever of had if it wasn't for Big Brother. So yes, definitely. Big Brother is a phenomenon, but doo you think the show has changed from a few years ago and since the move to Channel 5? I don't think Big Brother is what it used to be. I think that is because now-a-days there are lots of reality TV programs, whereas when channel 4 started it there were very few, so the show did well on it's own. The show now has to cater for what the audience want. Now I think it is harder to find work coming out of Big Brother as a lot of housemates are tarnished with the same stereotypes, but I am just happy and grateful I have done well and I wish the best of luck to everyone else. Are Luke and Asheligh for real? I have no idea as there were a lot of rumors going around in the house and some of Luke's behavior was very strange. I think it was more of a game plan on his side if I'm completely honest. Also they have broken up now! Having been out of the house only 8 weeks and it already being over, some could say no - it wasn't for real. |
Hello Sara, how are you?
I am great thanks. I have been really really busy but I am having a lot of fun at the moment! Great to hear. It's been a few months now since you left the Big Brother house, was the experience what you expected it be? The experience itself completely goes against your expectations, it's like nothing you can ever explain. The emotions you go through in there are incredible. However, it was the best fun I have ever had and it has taught me so much about myself. I would definitely do it again! A million percent! KiNGSiZE loved this years series and generally the show was more of a success then last years, do you think you had a good group of housemates? Yes the housemates this year were all great in their own individual and unique way. We all had something different to offer so I think it made the show more fun and more appealing to the public. Since leaving I've heard it was one of the bitchiest houses yet! Which is not good but I guess it makes interesting TV. For us, Becky (Hannon) left too early. Don't you agree? Yes definitely Becky was great fun and very enthusiastic, she brought some great vibes into the house as well. I was very upset when she left, I didn't think it was fair at all. However the public only see half of whats happening. Why do you think you were the winning girl? Now you have watched the show back, did we see the real you? Yes definitely that was me! Some people say I held back a little bit but I think that is just because you get put into a unique and confined environment where you have never ever been before so I don't really think anyone can comment unless you've actually been in the situation itself. It is very hard and it does make you paranoid so the times I held back I feel like I just didn't really know what was going on. Perhaps my judgement was blurred which is very unusual for me. How much do the Big Brother producers edit the show? They edit it hugely however they do not make up about what people say or do. Everything you see is the truth! Just edited, to make it into interesting television. Would you consider doing any other reality shows? Definitely! I would love to do 'Come Dine With Me' as I watch it non stop. Or 'Im A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here...!' I don't know if I could cope though as i hate bugs but I'd definitely love to give it a go! Are you single? Would you ever go on Take Me Out? Yes I am still single and yes of course I think that looks really fun and you never know, maybe it would help me find my dream man. Whats next for Sara? Just now I am concentrating on my modelling, which I am currently doing full time. I have some really exciting things coming up in the future, but I am not going to let anything out the bag though until they are finalized. I will be popping up in lots of places though and hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of me soon! Finally, thanks for joining us at KiNGSiZE, you made it very clear in the Big Brother house you have a huge love for the Queen. What would you do if it meant at the end of it you could meet the lady herself? Anthing. (laughs) Anything! |
AGGRO SANTOS
To celebrate the new series of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here'. KiNGSiZE caught up with ex campmate, rapper and singer Aggro Santos...
Hello Aggro, thanks for joining us today for your exclusive chat with us here at KiNGSiZE Gossip, how are you?
Hi KiNGSiZE, I am well thank you for asking! Were celebrating the new series of 'I'm a Celebrity', how was your experience in the jungle and did you say 'Yes' to the offer straight away? It was truly a unique experience! Very challenging indeed and I would say to anyone going for it that it really teaches you a lot about yourself. Especially as your secluded in a bubble and out of your comfort zone. I will admit it did take a bit of convincing from management as I did feel it would be hard. What was your highlight in the jungle and would you do it all over again? My highlight was accomplishing nineteen days in there. After the first ten I needed to be back in my own atmosphere again! Im surprised I didnt crack!
|
We thought you did very well. Which of your camp mates do you still see?
Still speak to Britt (Ekland), Linford (Christie) and Stacey (Soloman). There's no-one I really wouldn't want to see again. What was the worst part about being on the show? Definately some of the things I had to eat, although when your starving it makes the job easier. (laughs) You finished in sixth place, do you think if you had a jungle romance, you would of lasted longer? Maybe who knows, the Playboy bunny (Kayla Collins) they put in there would have been the only candidate and I didn't feel she had much of a personality. Naturally, your known for your singing and rapping, have you been in the studio recently, what can KiNGSiZE expect from you? Yes I have just finished a free download mixtape which I will put about early next month and working on album two at the minute! Its sounding good. Great! Your previous tracks became very catchy and you were lucky enough to work with two particular popstars. Now come on, who was your favourite, Pussycat Doll Kymberly or Girls Aloud's Kimberley? I couldn't chose, they are both great people. Both to hang out with and in the work environment. Aggro, we wanted you to choose! Now, after being on such a high profile show, you became more well known, was that difficult? The worst thing that comes with fame is your lack of privacy, but on the other side of things you make a living of something you love doing. Also people can write or say nasty things about you and ultimately as a public figure you are there to be judged. People forget your a person and have feelings too. What can we expect next from you, would you consider another stint on a reality show? All music for now with me, who knows maybe more television in the future. I'm not sure about reality TV shows, but maybe a bit of presenting, I never know what direction I will go in, I take each day as it comes. Well, thanks for joining us today Aggro, we will look forward to you bringing your new music to KiNGSiZE very soon. |
MARCUS COLLINS
Marcus talks to KiNGSiZE Gossip about his X Factor Family, Rylan and Hairspray...
Hello Marcus! Thanks for joining us today at KiNGSiZE Gossip. How are you?
I’m in really good spirits lately. I’ve just became a godfather so I’m beaming with pride over my new little angel.
Congratulations on everything you've achieved in the last year. On top of all the music success we hear on the grapevine you're going on a tour of Hairspray! How would you sum up your year?
My year has been a whirlwind - I’ve had so many good times and lots of memories that I will cherish forever! I’m very pleased to say I will be playing Seaweed Stubbs in the UK tour of Hairspray. This is my first role in a musical theatre production of this scale so I'm very excited.
We’re very excited too! We think you’ll be perfect as Seaweed Stubbs. Tell us all about Hairspray.
I have loved the show since I first heard about it about four years ago! I love the show, the score is amazing and really challenging! I have always wanted to prove I'm not just a karaoke one trick pony, that I’m a determined, hard working all rounder and I look forward to showing people I can move and act! I came from a hairdressing background so a musical called Hairspray was too good an opportunity to miss. I’m working with a great cast such as Lucy Benjamin, Mark Benton and a great new comer to the show called Freya [Sutton] who will be our leading lady. Expect fun, heartbreak, a really good message being delivered and some astounding performances. It will leave you with a huge smile on your face.
We have our tickets and look forward to seeing you in it. So have you been watching this year's X Factor? How do you think it compares to the class of 2011? Do you agree with Gary’s opinions on Rylan?
Yes I’ve seen the live shows! I think this year is a completely different group of people. I love my X Factor 2011 family and I was honoured to perform beside some really inspiring vocalists. As for Gary’s opinions on Rylan they are always about his vocal. As a performer, it’s really important that if you’re an entertainer you should match your huge performance with huge vocals.
We're loving all the music to come out of last year's X Factor. Have you kept in touch with some of the acts?
I speak to everyone from the show! We were a very tight year. I spoke to Misha last night for over an hour - it’s so good to catch up and share experiences. I love Misha’s new stuff and she is going to do very, very well!
We have a huge soft spot for last year's winners Little Mix. They're releasing their second single DNA on Sunday, what do you think of it?
I love the Little Mix girls. I adore Wings and DNA – can’t wait to hear the finished album! They are so amazing at harmonies. DNA is a very clever track and showcases their vocals beautifully.
The Sun Newspaper famously reported your sexuality whilst being on the X Factor. Did it affect you at all?
I was ready and prepared and I don’t think it harmed my career. I wanted to be honest from the get go and I feel I was!
On to more important things, what did you think to Desperate Scousewives?
Amazing! I am friends with a lot of the cast and I used to do Amanda’s hair extensions! Hahaha. We are all friends.
So, Marcus, what is next for you? Anything exciting we can look forward to after Hairspray has finished. More singles? Albums? Aftershaves? Reality Shows?
I plan on doing another album soon. I want to shake my direction up and make it a bit more clubby!
That is music to our ears. Well thanks for your time Marcus and for being KiNGSiZE’s FIRST INTERVIEW!
